Interplay Transcode

Overview

The Interplay Transcode option automatically encodes stored material into the resolutions needed for high-res editing, laptop portability, proxy editing, project finishing, or archive – or to take advantage of Interplay’s WAN workflows. With Interplay Transcode, low bandwidth MPEG4 proxies, including compressed audio, mean that even more users can access the network without slowing down.

Features

Mixdown
Interplay Transcode includes a new Mixdown service to “flatten” entire audio/video sequences to create a new master clip, while transcoding to a specified output format for distribution. With dual mixdown capability, Interplay Transcode triggers a high-res mixdown and proxy at the same time – from editing clients and from Access – and tracks them together for multi-res workflows.

New Formats
Creating low-res media like MPEG4 files and 720p proxies is just half the story. Interplay Transcode also helps to simplify distribution by transcoding to a wide variety of formats used by third parties to publish to mobile, Web, or digital signage.

Accelerate and synchronize your throughput
Interplay Transcode generates multiple-resolution versions of a single media asset. Users work with whichever resolution is appropriate for the task, and edits are automatically reflected across all versions. The original media stays untouched and protected.

Get the right editing resolution, right away
Media Composer, Symphony, NewsCutter, iNEWS Instinct, and Interplay Assist systems can all work with high- and low-resolution formats, and trigger Transcode automatically when a specific resolution is required. To keep bandwidth running smoothly, an administrator can establish resolution settings for users and applications, ensuring that only the allowed resolutions are available to each.

Eliminate duplication confusion
Interplay tracks all the available resolutions simply, easily, and transparently and ensures that Transcode doesn’t duplicate any media already available eliminating format and resolution confusion for all connected systems.

Transcode only what you need
With intelligent, selective transcoding, only the required frames in a clip - not the entire clip - are transcoded to a different resolution. If part of the clip exists in the appropriate resolution already, it won’t be re-transcoded.
